Danburg Properties of Boca Raton Tenant Profile: AR Architects Designing South Florida

Written on July 23, 2013 at 4:32 pm

AR-ArchitectureAs long as Adam Rydzewski can remember, he’s wanted to be an architect.

He eyed the profession as a child in his native Poland. He told his parents soon after immigrating to New York in 1988 that if he didn’t attend the city’s High School of Art and Design, he’d head home to pursue his dream.

After graduation, he enrolled in the University of Miami School of Architecture, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree.

“After that, I just decided to stay,” he says.

Today, Rydzewski is principal with AR Architecture, a regional architectural firm and a tenant at Danburg Properties’ The Preserve office park.

From architectural, interior design and construction firms to custom wood and millwork to fabric companies, Danburg Properties of Boca Raton is a veritable design center. Its tenants serve residential and commercial needs across Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and all of South Florida. Danburg recently profiled long-time tenant, Norbar Fabrics. Another such tenant is AR Architects.

Rydzewski’s timing was perfect. He graduated from UM in the late 1990s, at a time when South Florida was in the midst of a design and construction boom. His work was influenced by the Art Deco and modern styles being used throughout the region.

He landed a job straight out of college, eventually spending nine years as a partner in another South Florida architectural firm before opening AR Architecture in 2012.

More than 15 years after entering the field, Rydzewski’s stamp, style and tastes are reflected in the work he does domestic and international clients. From South Florida west to Tampa and St. Petersburg, he’s designed commercial buildings ranging in size from 20,000 to 250,000 square feet.

Whether professional offices, industrial buildings or interior and tenant improvements, the firm is poised to ride the rising demand for renovations and new construction.

In fact, two 100,000-square-foot AR Architecture commercial buildings are slated to begin construction in Pembroke Park. Meanwhile, he’s currently completing designs for a building renovation on Biscayne Boulevard in Miami-Dade County.

“People are coming in to buy, gut and renovate buildings from scratch,” he says.

A resident of Palm Beach County, Rydzewski appreciates The Preserve’s central location. His office is a 15-minute commute from home – maybe 25 minutes, depending on traffic, he admits. He’s close to clients throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties, and reasonably close to that growing book of work along the resurgent Biscayne Boulevard, too.

He also appreciates his office’s amenities, like a private restroom and the kitchenette. “A lot of properties don’t offer that for 650-square-foot offices,” he says. He’s even worked with other Danburg tenants.

“We have a strong community here,” he says. “People introduce themselves and we collaborate on projects.”
