Live From Boca Raton, It’s the Presidential Debate

Written on October 22, 2012 at 7:26 pm

After years of planning, months of organizing and days of pre-event logistics, the third and final Presidential Debate is hours away from starting. At Lynn University in Boca Raton, the auditorium is filling and the soccer field has become an encampment of corporate cabanas, food stations, and friends debating the merits of their candidates.

On the three inflatable screens at one end of the converted soccer field, a CSPAN Online anchor is interviewing a Lynn University professor on what she expects from the night’s debate – and any changes in foreign policy once the election is decided.

How quickly will the debate – ostensibly on foreign affairs – turn to the economy, the anchor asks. “About 30 seconds,” she responds.

At the Danburg Properties of Boca Raton cabana, the glow-in-the-dark red and blue necklaces are being handed out. People are wandering around the cabanas. We’re awaiting the countdown to the beginning of the debate (a counter for which can be seen at the top of this page).

If you’re seeing this at or before the debate, be sure to check the Danburg Facebook page frequently to get event updates, pictures from the cabana grounds, and other insights. It promises to be a fun and informative night. We’re glad you can join us.
