Post-Debate Summary: Both Sides Made Cases, Scored Points – ‘Winners’ Included Lynn, Attendees

Written on October 22, 2012 at 10:29 pm

As with many debates (with the exclusion maybe of President Obama’s performance in the first debate), the “winner” of tonight’s Presidential Debate at Lynn University in Boca Raton depended on which side of the political aisle one sits. Both  President Obama and Gov. Romney scored points and strengthened their causes. It was lively, yet generally respectful, even as they debated how to handle Iran and China, how to treat Israel, and how to protect our interests domestically and abroad.

Sitting in the Danburg Properties of Boca Raton corporate cabana on the campus’ soccer grounds, cheers could be heard from supporters of both.

The night’s undeniable winners were Lynn University, whose national and even global stature have risen immeasurably; its students, who enjoyed the experience of a global stage few other college students can claim; and the city of Boca Raton, which also shares a heightened awareness among domestic consumers.

Moderator Bob Schieffer deserves kudos for running a tight ship, keeping the contenders (mostly) on point, maintaining decorum and not sharing center stage with the two rivals.

The team at Danburg Properties of Boca Raton also consider ourselves winners. We were surrounded by good company enjoying an historic event – one that will never be repeated in quite the same way.

To the hosts at Lynn University and our friends who joined us on campus this memorable October evening, thank you. This was a remarkable event. Thank you for sharing it with us.
