From Commercial Development to Philanthropy, Boca Raton is a City of Eclectic Interests

Written on January 2, 2013 at 12:31 pm

For generations, people have moved to Boca Raton for various reasons – the 70-degree January days, the inviting business climate rife with commercial real estate and warehouse space (and Florida’s no-income-tax status), the A-rated public and private schools, and our great cultural, arts and environmental attractions.

Yet, one look at the Danburg Properties of Boca Raton Facebook fan page, where news of commercial and warehouse development and space is as prevalent of our residents’ accomplishments, reveals just how dynamic our community – and the greater Palm Beach County market – truly is.

From Florida Atlantic University to Lynn University, to the growing research and bioscience entities, to our robust philanthropic establishment borne from a heart of giving, Boca Raton is in many ways the model modern community and city of the future.

A short list includes news that he Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience officially opened in December in Jupiter, marking its first U.S. location and the next stage in Palm Beach County’s growing bioscience market.

Also in December, the Boca Raton City Council voted to allow modest, planned mobility development in the under-utilized Northwest Sector – promising high-wage jobs and new residences for high-skilled employees certain to become future city residents and tax payers.

Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum announced the launch of a new tour program at the Boca Express Train Museum located at the Boca Raton FEC Railway Depot, Count de Hoernle Pavilion, 747 S. Dixie Hwy.

Football fans found themselves saying ‘Who’s RG3?’ after Sunshine State native, Florida Atlantic University Owls alum and Washington Redskins rookie Alfred Morris ran for 200 yards, three TDs and helped the team secure a playoff spot in a recent win against the Dallas Cowboys.

Our accomplishments span the generations. On the philanthropic front, Gulfstream Goodwill Industries Inc., received a $40,000 grant from The Order of St. John, Knights Hospitaller Commandery of Florida using proceeds from Countess Henrietta De Hoernle’s 100th Birthday Celebration Gala Sept. 24. The Countess’ largesse is unmatched in Boca Raton.

College student and Boca Raton native Stevan Fane Brenner – son of the owners of Brenner Real Estate Group – has used his environmentally conscious message to launch a new organic clothing line, RAW Apparel LLC.

Then, there’s London, the standard poodle owned by Boca Raton’s own Michele Molnar and Jamie Danburg, who was named World Champion at the AKC / Eukanuba World Challenge in December in Orlando. Next month, he’ll be off to New York City’s Madison Square Garden in the hunt for his next Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club.

From our perch at Danburg Properties of Boca Raton, where we oversee more than one million square feet of commercial and warehouse real estate space for lease – with more development planned throughout the city, we see only positive tidings for the city and greater Boca Raton community.

If a community is composed of the seemingly unconnected or disparate elements that reflect its residents’ and business owners’ various interests, then Boca Raton is a dynamic community indeed. Thanks for being part of it, and for watching – and helping – us grow.
